» The Huskies are set for their 2025-26 Home opener vs. the Ohio State Buckeyes beginning
Oct. 17. UConn will host Ohio State at the Toscano Family Ice Forum for game 1
and then travel to Hartford for a matchup against the Buckeyes for game 2.
» The Huskies are coming off a bye weekend, but opened the season splitting a series with Colorado College. The Huskies fell in game one by a final of 4-2 and bounced back in game two for a decisive 5-1 victory.
» The top returning goal scorer in College Hockey picked up right where he left off. Joey Muldowney scored two goals in two games vs. Colorado College
» The last time these two teams faced off against each other was in 2022 when UConn hosted Ohio State for a two game series in Hartford. The two teams tied game 1 with Ohio State winning the Shootout, and UConn bouncing back for a 6-1 win in game 2.
» The Huskies have an experienced group returning, including top scorers Joey Muldowney, Jake Richard, Ryan Tattle and Tabor Heaslip
» The Huskies leadership group consists of Tabor Heaslip (Captain), with Joey Muldowney, Ryan Tattle and Viking Gustafsson Nyberg serving as an Assistant Captains.
» Despite returning an experienced group, the Huskies welcome 7 talented newcomers including 3 NHL Draft picks (Brendan Dunphy, Anthony Allain-Samake, Alex Blais)
» Entering last season, the Huskies only had one 40 point scorer in the Hockey east Era. They finished with 3 (Joey Muldowney, Hudson Schandor and Jake Richard) following the Hockey East Tournament.
» The Huskies added experience to their coaching staff this offseason, as they welcomed Alex Westlund as the teams new Goaltender coach following the departure of Vince Staletti. Westlund has a plethora of experience most recently working with the Detroit
Red Wings (NHL).
» Huskies in the NHL: Marc Gatcomb has become the 9th Husky to reach the pros, having most recently been called up by the New York Islanders. Gatcomb joins, Chase Bradley, Ruslan Iskhakov, Yan Kuznetsov, Todd Krygier, Cole Schneider, Max Letunov, Adam Huska, and Tage Thompson as former Huskies to make it to the league.
