No. 1 Huskies to Take on Utah in HOF Women’s Showcase

STORRS, Conn. – The top-ranked UConn women's basketball team (5-0) faces Utah (3-2) in the Basketball Hall of Fame Women's Showcase on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. The game will air on FS1 and the UConn Sports Network from Learfield (FOX Sports 97.9).
UConn is 46-1 all-time at Mohegan Sun Arena.
Graduate student Azzi Fudd scored 31 points to lead UConn to a 72-69 win over No. 6 Michigan Friday. The Huskies led by as many as 20 points but were outscored by 18-4 in the third quarter as the Wolverines pulled back. Fudd scored 13 points in the fourth quarter, going 3-3 from three-point range and 4-4 from the free throw line.
Sophomore Sarah Strong grabbed a career-high 20 rebounds vs. Michigan and added 16 points, six assists, four blocks and three steals.
This is the first meeting between UConn and Utah. UConn's Serah Williams and Utah's Maty Wilke were teammates at Wisconsin for one season.
Utah fell to Syracuse, 61-49, on Friday. This season, Wilke leads Utah with 13.0 points per game. Head coach Gavin Petersen is in his first season at Utah.
After Sunday's game, the Huskies have a week break before beginning BIG EAST play at Xavier on Nov. 30 at 2:30 p.m. on FS1.
The UConn women's basketball team is holding an open practice this Wednesday, Nov. 26 at 4 p.m. in Gampel Pavilion. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased here.
