UConn Hockey Adds Carter Sproule for Second Semester

STORRS, Conn. – UConn head men's hockey coach Mike Cavanaugh announced the addition of freshman Carter Sproule to the roster for the 2025-26 second semester.
The native of Grand Forks, North Dakota will join the Huskies following a stint with the Watertown Shamrocks of the NAHL. In his time with the Shamrocks, Sproule leads the team with 10 goals and 20 assists for 30 total points. Sproule closes his Shamrocks career with 22 goals and 48 assists for 70 points in 58 total games.
"We are thrilled for Carter to have the opportunity to join UConn," said Shamrocks Head Coach Casey Kirley. "Carter has had a significant impact for our organization both on the ice and in the community. UConn is getting a player that can influence games in a number of ways, including his physicality, playmaking, and ability to score goals. More importantly they are getting a great teammate and natural leader."
Sproule is immediately eligible and able to compete in the second half of the season for the Huskies.
