STORRS, CT – The UConn Huskies are back in a bowl game for the second-straight season and will head back to Boston for the fourth annual Wasabi Fenway Bowl on Saturday, December 27.
The Huskies will take on the Army West Point Black Knights of the American Athletic Conference (AAC) at historic Fenway Park in Boston. Jointly produced by Fenway Park Events and ESPN Events, this year's game is scheduled for a 2:15 pm kick-off and will air nationally on ESPN.
"We're honored to accept the invitation to return to the Wasabi Fenway Bowl. Last year's experience was memorable—our victory over North Carolina, combined with our incredible fanbase helping set a Fenway Bowl attendance record, showed what UConn football is all about" stated interim head coach Gordon Sammis. "We're excited to build on that success and create more special memories at historic Fenway Park. Playing at such an iconic venue is a unique opportunity and our players have worked exceptionally hard this season to put themselves in position for a 10th win and what would be a historic season for UConn football. They've earned the chance to return to Boston and compete on this special stage once again."

UConn, who has now been to a bowl game in three of the last four seasons, head to Boston at 9-3 with a chance to post 10 wins, something that has been done just once before in the program's history (1998). The Huskies have signature wins over ACC Champion Duke and Boston College and along with No. 1 ranked Indiana are the only teams in the country to not lose a game in regulation this season
The Huskies have won nine-games in back-to-back seasons and their 18 wins during the last two years are the most in combined wins in back-to-back years in program history.
The offensive trio of quarterback Joe Fagnano, wide receiver Skyler Bell and running back Cam Edwards became the first in program history to eclipse 3,000 yards passing and 1,000 yards receiving and rushing in the same season. UConn is one of five teams nationally to have a 3,000 yard passer, 1,000 yard receiver and a 1,000 yard rusher.
Bell played his way to becoming a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award, given annually to the nation's top receiver. He also earned an invitation to the Senior Bowl, becoming the first UConn offensive skill position player to head to the prestigious all-star game since Dan Orlovsky in 2005.
The Army Black Knights are 6-4 on the season next weekend in Baltimore, Md., The Commander-in-Chief's Trophy is on the line between Army and Navy for back-to-back seasons for only the second time ever in series history, and for just the ninth time since 1972, the Army–Navy Game will be a winner-take-all matchup for the Commander-in-Chief's Trophy (1972, 1977, 1978, 1996, 2005, 2012, 2017, 2024). This will be Army's 12th bowl game appearance and the Black Knights are 5-1in postseason bowl in the Jeff Monken era. Last season, they posted an Independence Bowl victory over Louisiana Tech, 27-6.
