Three Huskies Named 2026 HERO Sports Preseason All-Americans

STORRS, CT - A trio of UConn Huskies, defensive lineman Esean Carter (Detroit, MI), linebacker K'Von Sherman (Pearland, TX), and offensive lineman Ty Chan (Lowell, MA), were named to the 2026 HERO Sports Group of Six Preseason All-Americans.
Carter and Sherman were both named to the second team defense while Chan earned a spot on the third team offense.
Carter transferred into UConn after spending his whole career at Toledo. In 2025 he was an All-MAC third team selection. He stared all 13 games and posted 36 tackles, 3.0 sacks, three QB hurries. In his career with the Rockets he appeared in 40 games, posting 58 total tackles and 5.0 sacks.
Sherman, also a transfer from Toledo, played the last two seasons for the Rockets. In 2025 he was a first-team All-MAC selection after leading the team with 94 tackles and 14.5 TFLs. He had 4.5 sacks and six QB hurries as well. In 2024, he played in 13 games and finished with 11 total tackles. He went to Toledo from Hutchinson CC.
Chan appeared in all 13 games and earned nine starting assignments at both guard positions last fall. He helped anchor an offensive line unit that ranked 15th nationally in sacks allowed per game (1.23) and tackles for loss per game (3.77). UConn's passing offense ranked 11th in the country at 284.4 yards per game and the rushing attack average 160.8 yards per game and produced a 1,000 yard rusher in back Cam Edwards.
