WSOC Drops Contest at Georgetown

WASHINGTON, DC - The UConn women's soccer team (5-3-2, 1-1-1 BIG EAST suffered a 2-0 defeat at Georgetown on Saturday evening at Shaw Field.Â
The Hoyas scored a pair of first half tallies to create distance from the Huskies. UConn had an opportunity late in the first half to cut the deficit to one after Kelly Monaco streaked into the box and fired a shot off the post and then her follow up went just wide of goal.Â
The Huskies finished with seven shots on the evening while Ava Yamas made a career-high six saves in net for the Huskies.Â
Naia Ocio led the Huskies with four shots while Farrah Stephen-Martin added a pair.Â
Next up, the Huskies travel to Providence to take on the Friars on Wednesday, Oct. 1 at 6 p.m.
