Huskies Ready for Penn Elite Meet

STORRS, Conn.- UConn track and field returns to action this week, traveling to Philadelphia to compete in the Penn Elite Meet at the Ott Center. The Huskies will compete in the multi-event portion on Thursday and Friday, and the full meet on Saturday. UConn notched 11 new top-10 program marks last week at the Beantown Challenge.
The men's heptathlon kicks off at 2:30pm on Thursday. All-Americans Diarmuid O'Connor and Josh Mooney will make their indoor multi-debuts. O'Connor competed in the 60m hurdles and pole vault last week in the Beantown Challenge, finishing eighth in the hurdles at 8.38 and ninth in the pole vault at 4.45m. Mooney won the hurdles competition in the Harvard Classic on December 5th with a time of 7.93.
The women's pentathlon will begin on Friday, with all-American Maresa Hense back in multi-action after a standout 2025 freshman season. At the Harvard Classic on December 6th, Hense finished fourth in the hurdles (8.60) and 12th in the shot put (11.22m).
The entire meet will kick off on Saturday morning, with the throwing events and jumping events beginning at 11:00 am and the running events at 12:30 pm. The Penn Elite Meet will be streaming on ESPN+.
