Huskies Wrap Up Weekend at Penn Elite Meet

PHILADELPHIA, Pa.- UConn track and field competed in the Penn Elite Meet at the Ott Center on Saturday. The Huskies notched a new school record and five new top-10 marks on the weekend.
Women's Field:
- Gabriela DeFelice finished 11th in the weight throw with a season-best throw of 15.72m.
- Kaylee Meyer jumped 1.73m, finishing third in the high jump.
- Rachel Mason placed seventh in the pole vault, clearing 3.66m. Piper Linn took 11th at 3.51m
- Jaidah Garrett finished third in the long jump at 5.83m. Jalynn Smith finished seventh at 5.71m.
- Ella Karp claimed 12th in the shot put at 13.19m. Sinclaire Fryer finished 13th at 13.11 and Brook-lynn Roberts took 16th at 12.56m.
- Matilda Brockley set a new personal best in the triple jump, finishing in fourth place at 12.26m.
Men's Field:
- Dar Jankovic jumped 2.00m in the high jump, finishing third. Enaji Muhammad jumped 1.95m, claiming sixth place
- Marshall Potter finished fifth in the weight throw at 17.86m. Alex Krause claimed seventh at 17.27m. Lucas DeCrescenzo finished ninth at 16.27m.
- Emi Erekosima won the triple jump at 15.44m, the ninth-best mark in program history
- Wyatt Martin finished 11th in the pole vault at 4.59m
- Potter won the shot put with a throw of 17.99m, tying the second-best mark in program history with his final throwÂ
Women's Track:
- Loghan Hughes finished 16th in the mile with a time of 4:53.85.
- Brooklyn Taylor qualified for the 60m hurdle finals with a time of 8.64, finishing fourth in the finals at 8.57
- Anna Connors finished third in the 400m at 54.44. Emerson Flaker claimed sixth at 55.11, cracking the program's all-time top 10
Men's Track:
- Christian Menounos finished 16th in the 3000m with a time of 8:26.26. Daniel Hilmer claimed 21st at 8:52.54
- Mohamed Wahdan qualified for the 60m hurdles, crossing the line in 8.03 in the preliminary round, finishing fourth in the finals with a time of 7.95
- OJ Singletary finished fourth in the 400m at 47.94. Del Lindsay ran a personal-best time of 48.22, good for sixth
- TJ Jaraveza took 11th in the 200m at 21.69, with Noble Gongon right behind in 12th at 21.70.
Up Next: The Huskies conclude January at the John Thomas Terrier Classic and Harvard Invitational, with both kicking off on January 30th.
