Huskies Finish Weekend 1-1 after Dominating Win over LIU

WEST POINT, New York - The UConn women's tennis team finished the weekend 1-1 as they fell to Army on Saturday by a final of 4-1 before bouncing back for a convincing 4-0 win over LIU on Sunday.
To open the weekend, the Huskies saw success in the doubles matches as Ela Platenikova and Victoria Matos won no.1 Doubles by a final of 6-4 and Isabella Asenov and Cameron Didion won no.3 doubles by a final of 6-4. After falling behind in the doubles, Army came out strong in singles matches, securing wins in no.1, no.3 no.5 and no.6 doubles to secure the 4-1 win over the Huskies.
The Huskies didn't let the defeat on Saturday ruin the weekend as they came out strong in their match against LIU. The Huskies began the day with wins in no.1 and no.3 doubles. The pairing of Platenikova and Matos continued a successful weekend winning 6-1 in no.1 doubles while Didion and Asenov won no.3 doubles by a final of 6-3.
In the singles matchups the Huskies received contributions from all courts. Ela Platenikova started the Huskies strong, winning no.1 singles (6-3,6-3) followed by a win from Isabella Asenov (6-1,6-2) and Ilana Rosenthal (6-1,6-0).
