HookC Drops MLB Desert Invitational Finale to Air Force

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - The UConn baseball team (0-3) dropped its MLB Desert Invitational finale, 12-6, to the Air Force Academy (2-1) on Sunday evening at Salt River Fields.Â
The Falcons plated four runs in the first and four runs in the fourth to take an 8-0 lead.Â
UConn fought back with its largest scoring inning of the season with five runs. Maddix Dalena and Peyton Jemison delivered two-run singles while Evan Menzel added a sacrifice fly.Â
Dalena and Jackson Marshall each registered multi-hit efforts in the loss.
Charlie Hale performed on the bump with two shutouts frames out of the UConn bullpen.Â
RHP Rob Gilchrist, RHP Austin Trumpour, Chase Taylor and Steve Thomas all made their UConn debuts on Sunday night.
UConn attempts to grab its first win of the season on Tuesday, February 17 at Arizona State at 8:35 p.m ET
