No. 1 UConn to Host Georgetown in Regular Season Home Finale

STORRS, Conn. – The top-ranked UConn women's basketball team (29-0, 18-0 BIG EAST) faces Georgetown (13-14, 6-12) Thursday at 7 p.m. in PeoplesBank Arena in Hartford. The game will air on TNT/truTV and the UConn Sports Network from Learfield (FOX Sports 97.9).
UConn will celebrate National Girls & Women in Sports Day vs. the Hoyas.
UConn had a season-high 26 steals in an 81-38 win over Providence on Sunday. The Friars had 39 turnovers, which tied the UConn record for most turnovers by an opponent. Graduate student Azzi Fudd and sophomore Sarah Strong led the Huskies with 13 points each. Redshirt sophomore Jana El Alfy set a career high with 16 rebounds while junior KK Arnold had a career-high 10 assists.
With a win over Villanova last week, UConn clinched the 2025-26 BIG EAST Regular Season Championship and the No. 1 seed in next month's BIG EAST Tournament.
Including BIG EAST Tournament games, the Huskies have won 65 straight league games.
UConn is 58-6 all-time vs. Georgetown. The Huskies have won the last 41 meetings between the teams. The teams last met on Jan. 22 in Washington, D.C., an 83-42 win for the Huskies. Strong led UConn with 25 points, eight rebounds and five assists in the game. Fudd's mother Katie played at Georgetown from 1998-01.
Georgetown fell to Butler, 66-58, last Saturday. This season, Khia Miller leads the Hoyas with 9.9 points per game. Darnell Haney is in his second season as head coach at Georgetown.
