HookC Loses Midweek Against Boston College

STORRS, Conn. - The UConn baseball team (7-9) lost 26-19 to Boston College (10-6) in a four-hour, 31 minute nine-inning affair at Elliot Ballpark.Â
The Huskies offense scored a season-high 19 runs on 19 hits with six Huskies recording multi-hit games. Nater Wachter led the way with a four-hit day and drove in three.Â
Junior Tyler Minick made his return to the lineup after missing 12 games with injury and went 3-5 with three runs scored and three RBI that featured his first home run of the season, a two-run shot.
Bryce Detwiler 3-4 at the plate with four runs batted in, all coming off the bench for the freshman. That included hitting his first career home run in the fourth and bases-clearing double in the seventh.Â
UConn put together its highest scoring inning of the season with an eight spot in the seventh inning that saw 13 Huskies come to the plate.Â
The Huskies eight extra base hits was the most in a game this season.Â
UConn threw 10 pitchers on Tuesday and only one, Frank Spirito IV, threw a scoreless inning. RHP Joe Talarico and RHP Ryan Tatar each made their UConn debut on Tuesday while veteran LHP Sam Hutchinson made his season debut on his return from injury.Â
Next up, the Huskies will begin a nine games in 10 days spring break trip in Portland against the Portland Pilots on Friday, March 13 at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT
