Huskies Set For Weekend Series at No. 9 Arkansas

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn softball team (8-18) travels to Fayetteville, Arkansas this weekend for a three-game series with the No. 9 ranked Arkansas Razorbacks from March 20-22. All three games will be on SECN+.
UConn is coming off a series loss at Seton Hall last weekend. The Huskies are 3-2 in their last five and are off to a 3-3 start in BIG EAST play. UConn's offense has come on strong of late, scoring 4+ runs in each of their last seven games. Sophomore infielder Cat Petteys leads the Huskies with eight multi-hit games this year. She is currently riding a nine-game hit streak into the weekend. Senior utility Haley Coupal is also carrying a seven-game hit streak. Coupal has eight RBI in her last six games.
A Look at Arkansas
No. 9 Arkansas (24-4) enter the weekend winners in three of their last five games. The Razorbacks started the 2026 season strong, only losing one game through their first 20 contests. Arkansas is coached by Courtney Deifel entering her 11th season. The Razorbacks are led by their offense, ranking top ten nationally in batting average (.380), scoring (9.18), total runs (257), and RBI's per game (8.25). Arkansas has five players hitting above .400.
Series History
This will be the second-ever matchup between these two programs on the diamond. Arkansas was victorious in the lone matchup in 2017, defeating the Huskies in extra innings, 3-2 (Feb. 25, 2017).
