HookC Loses Lopsided Contest

SAN JOSE - The UConn baseball team (10-12) lost 16-6 in seven innings on Friday evening against San Jose State (9-12) at Excite Ballpark.
The Huskies allowed 15 runs in the first three innings including a 14-batter eight run frame in the first.Â
Cam Righi, Nater Wachter,and Evan Menzel all registered multi-hit performances while Rob Rispoli, Tyler Minick, Jackson Marshall, Chris Polemeni, Peyton Jemison and Chase Taylor all drove in a run.
Polemeni hit his third home run of the season in the seventh.
Garret Garbinski was the lone Husky pitcher to not allow a run with a season-best 2.0 shutout frames and a career-high five strikeouts.
UConn returns to the field tomorrow against San Diego State at 3 p.m. ET / 12 p.m. PT.
