Women's Track Rounds Out Day Two of NCAA East First Round

LEXINGOTN, KY - A trio of UConn women's track and field student-athletes were in action on the second day of competition at the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field East First Round at Kentucky's Outdoor Track and Field Complex on Thursday.
Freshman Brooklyn Taylor, competing for the first time in her career at an NCAA qualifying event, competed in the long jump to kick-off UConn's day and finished 37th overall with a leap of 5.86m.
On the track, fellow freshman Brooke Strauss also got her first chance to run at an NCAA First Round in the 1500m. Strauss finished inside the top-20 in the 48-runner field, clocking in at 4:14.76.
Capping off the day was senior Chloe Trudel running in the night's final event, the 10,000m. Trudel was 30th overall with a time of 34:34.26.
The Huskies are back in action on Friday for day three of the NCAA East First Round. The trio of Enaji Muhammad, Derek Shimer and Dar Jankovic will all compete in the high jump at 2 pm.
