2022 Season: Drafted in the 11th Round of 2022 MLB Draft by the Toronto Blue Jays. First Team All-BIG EAST. First Team ABCA All-Northeast Region. Second Team All-New England. College Park Regional All-Tournament team. BIG EAST All-Tournament team. Tied for second most win in a single-season with 11 and became part of the first UConn duo (Austin Peterson) to each win 10 games or more. Ninth most strikeouts in a single-season with 110. Only two of 17 starts went fewer than 5.0 innings. Made 17 starts, went 11-3 with a 3.41 ERA. Tossed 103.0 innings, struck out 110 and held opponents to a .246 AVG against. His 11 wins tied for second most in the country. 34th in the nation with his 110 strikeouts.  Earned first win of the season with seven shutout innings with nine strikeouts at UNF (2/26). Grabbed victory with seven innings of one run ball and six punch outs at FIU (3/5). Pitched six innings and struck out a career-high 11 at URI (3/26). Tossed a complete game shutout with seven strikeouts vs. St. John's (4/9). Twirled six shutout innings with five strikeouts at Seton Hall (4/16). Threw seven innings of one run ball vs. Creighton (5/28) to send Huskies to BIG EAST Championship game. Put together one of his best performances of his career, going seven innings of two-run ball with six strikeouts against No. 15 Maryland (6/5) in College Park Regional winner's bracket game. Followed it up with a win in Game 1 of Super Regionals at No. 2 Stanford with 6.1 strong innings with eight strikeouts.Â
2021 Season: Became the Huskies No. 3 starter for much of the 2021 campaign. Went 5-2 in 14 appearances and 10 starts, logged 52.2 innings with 61 strikeouts. Came out of the pen against No. 9 Texas Tech (3/13) and went 3.0 scoreless frames, allowed one hit and struck out four. Started the inaugural game in Elliot Ballpark vs. CCSU (3/23) and picked up the victory with 5.0 shutout innings and a career-high nine punch outs. Followed it up in his next start with 5.0 shutout innings in a win vs. Boston College (3/30). Tossed a career-high 7.0 scoreless innings with just two hits allowed and eight strikeouts at St. John's (5/8). Notched a rubber-game victory at Villanova (5/16) with 5.1 innings of work. Earned his fifth victory of the season with 5.1 innings vs. Seton Hall (5/21). Pitched 5.2 shutout innings vs. Xavier (5/30) in the BIG EAST Championship game.Â
2020 Season: Appeared in four games out of the bullpen in his first season at UConn. The right-hander logged 9.0 innings of work and struck out 15. First career outing came on Opening Day vs. Cal Poly (2/14). Tied a career-high with 3.0 innings of work vs. No. 1 Michigan (2/21). Notched his first career save and recorded a career-high seven strikeouts at Presbyterian (3/7).
High School: Played four seasons under head coach Rich Barnaby at Leominster High School. Two-time Telegram & Gazette Best of Hometeam: Player of the Year-Baseball (2018, '19). 2019 Telegram & Gazette super team. Three-time Mid Wach A All-Star (2017, '18, '19). 2019 Mid Wach A League MVP. 2018 MIAA First Team All-State. Went 6-2 with a 1.40 ERA that featured 91 strikeouts in 51 innings pitched. During the 2018 season went 10-0 with a 0.51 ERA. Struck out 103 batters in 55 innings of work. Lettered two years in football and one season in basketball.Â
Personal: Patrick Ronald Gallagher. Parents are Todd and Susan Gallagher. Has one brother, Ryan, and one sister, Shaylyn. Majoring in allied health.
