As a Junior in 2017-18: CSCAA All-American honorable mention...Landed All-Conference recognition with second place finishes in the 200 & 400 IM at The American Athletic Conference Championships...Set school record in the 200 IM with a time of 1:47.36...Won 200 IM event at Villanova dual meet.
As a Sophomore in 2016-17: Earned All-American Athletic Conference in the 200-yard IM…set the school record in that event at the American in 1:47.78…was second in that event at conference…named to the AAC All-Academic team.
As A Freshman in 2015-16: Named to the 2016 All-American Athletic Conference Team...placed third in 200-meter in 1:49.73...finished second in 200-yard breaststroke at Villanova in 2:14.69.
Before UConn: Lettered at Middletown High School...team captain who earned All-America honors twice…four-time all-state and four-time all-conference…was a two-time state class MVP…held eight school records with three state class records…team won four conference championships and a state open…also lettered in cross country and tennis..honor roll student who was vice president of Key Club.
Personal: Matthew Joseph Degenais…son of Russell and Theresa Dagenais...has one brother Nicholas and one sister Alexandra…civil engineering major.
