AT UCONN: Is in her fourth year as a member of the team.
FALL 2017: Competed as three seat of the Open Eight ‘A’ at the Head of the Riverfront, three seat of the Club Eight at the Head of the Charles, and five seat of the Championship Eight that placed second at the Head of the Schuylkill.
2016-17: Competed as a member of the First and Second Varsity Eights; finished the season in seven seat of the Second Varsity Eight that placed third at the American Athletic Conference Championship. In the fall, competed as five seat of the Open Eight ‘A’ that placed second and two seat of the Open Four ‘A’ that placed third at the Head of the Riverfront, and six seat of the Club Eight ‘A’ at the Head of the Schuylkill.
2015-16: Competed as a member of the First Varsity Eight; finished the season in four seat at the American Athletic Conference Championship. In the fall, competed as four seat of the Open Eight ‘B’ and three seat of the Open Four ‘B’ at the Head of the Riverfront, two seat of the Championship Four at the Head of the Charles, and five seat of the Championship Eight at the Head of the Schuylkill.
2014-15: Competed as a member of the First Varsity Four, Second Varsity Four, and the Third Varsity Eight; finished the season in three seat of the First Varsity Four at the American Athletic Conference Championship. In the fall, competed as seven seat of the Varsity Eight ‘D’ at the Head of the Riverfront and bow seat of the Novice Eight ‘A’ that won the Head of the Schuylkill.
HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Avon High School … earned six varsity letters as a member of the rowing team … was a member of the state champion Novice Eight as a Sophomore and the second place varsity four as a senior … held team records for 6000m and 2000m erg tests … scholar-athlete … high honor roll student.
PERSONAL: Sierra Steele Mazur … English and American Studies major with concentrations in creative writing and Irish literature … born on January 23, 1996 … Daughter of Joseph and Helen Mazur.
