Top Dogs Student Section
Welcome to Top Dogs, the official student section of UConn Athletics! The Top Dogs bring the energy and support all 21 NCAA Division I athletic programs at UConn. From cheering at Gampel Pavilion and Rentschler Field to participating in victory parades and rallies, UConn students give our teams the best home-field advantage. Join the Top Dogs on gameday and show off your Husky pride!
Top Dogs Captains
The goal of the Top Dogs Captains program is to strengthen the culture and traditions of the student section for all UConn Athletics programs, including leading chants/cheers, participating in themes, and engaging with all students on gameday. UConn students can apply to be a Top Dogs Captain for the following:
- Football
- Basketball (Men's & Women's)
- Hockey (Men's & Women's)
- Olympic Sports (All Other Programs)
Top Dogs Captains will meet with UConn Athletics Marketing staff throughout the year to provide feedback and enhance gameday, in addition to attending events for their program. Applications are now OPEN for the 2025-26 season. For any questions, please contact marketing@uconn.edu.
Top Dogs Student Rewards
UConn students can earn points by attending UConn Athletics events, and then redeem those points for prizes in the Rewards Store. To get started, download the UConn Huskies app!
Game Check-Ins
Students can earn a range of points when attending games throughout the year! Games designated as “bonus games” will be worth 2x the points as a regular game. Students can also earn extra points on certain gamedays by arriving early or staying until the end. The point values for each sport can be found below.

Rewards Store Pickup
Once enough points are earned to claim a prize, students can go to the Rewards Store in the Top Dogs app! Prizes in the store will include official UConn gear, autographed items, exclusive experiences and more. Plus, new prizes and experiences will be added throughout the year. Points can also be used to enter auctions or sweepstakes when available.
When students claim a prize, they can arrange to pick up their prize from the marketing offices located inside Greer Field House, across from the Student Union. Please email marketing@uconn.edu to request a day/time to get your item(s) and a marketing representative will confirm with you. If you have any questions, please email marketing@uconn.edu.
FAQs
Where can I download the app?
To download the app, search “UConn Huskies” in the app store or visit https://topdogsrewards.com/welcome for more information. Download the UConn Huskies app to your phone, click the menu button in the top left, and then click “Top Dogs Rewards.” From there, you can make your account and start earning points at games!
How do I check in to games to earn points?
If you claimed a student ticket to a game, you will be automatically checked in to the event when it is scanned. Based on the time you scan in to certain events, you can earn the "arrive early" bonus points too!
If you did not claim a student ticket ahead of time, but walk up to a game, you can press "check in" on the event once you're in the venue! At football games, students in the stands will earn "stay late" bonus points automatically in the 4th quarter!
Can I claim student tickets for football, basketball and other sports in the Top Dogs app?
Yes! Open up Top Dogs Rewards in the UConn Huskies app, click the "Student Tix" icon at the bottom of the page, and log in to the Student Portal to claim your tickets. And don't forget to pick up a bus ticket from the Student Union after you claim a football ticket.
How can I use the points I earn during the year?
Students can use points earned at games to redeem prizes in the Rewards Store, enter sweepstakes, and enter auctions! Prizes in the Rewards Store include official UConn gear, signed items, exclusive experiences and more. Make sure to check the store throughout the year for newly added prizes!
Where can I pick up the prizes I claim from the Rewards Store?
Prizes claimed from the Rewards Store can be picked up throughout the year. When students claim a prize, they can arrange to pick up their prize from the marketing offices located inside Greer Field House, across from the Student Union. Do points reset after every year?
Yes, points will reset at the end of spring semester every year. All points will be reset to zero the morning of June 30, 2026.
