2019 Season: 7th Round Pick by the Minnesota Twins in the 2019 MLB Draft. Prato accumulated 227 hits in his three-year career with the Huskies that included 178 games played. He finished his career with a .317 average, 143 runs scored, 38 doubles, six home runs, 91 RBIs and 46 stolen bases. 2019 First Team All-Conference performer. All-Oklahoma City Regional team going 10-22 (.454 AVG), two 2B’s, HR, five RBIs. Reached base in the first 35 contests of the season. Recorded 20 multi-hit efforts. Hit safely in the first eight games of 2019 including a pair of three-hit efforts. Only committed seven errors in 292 chances. Was a finalist for ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Award at shortstop. All-New England Third Team. .324 AVG, 51 runs, 17 2B’s, 3 HR’s, 35 RBIS, 40 BB, 14 SB and 79 hits during junior year. Went 5-12 with two runs scored, two 2B’s and two RBIs in series-win vs. No. 4 Louisville. Collected three hits and three RBIS including a two-run homer to capture a series win at UCF (3/31), 10-0. Hit a go-ahead two-run home run against USF (5/10) in the seventh inning. Added a three-hit night with a pair of RBIs at Tulane (5/17) to earn series win. Provided insurance with a two-run home run against No. 9 Oklahoma State in the NCAA Oklahoma City Regional Final.
2018 Summer: Played in 33 games with the Bourne Braves in the Cape Cod Baseball League… Hit. 261 with 31 hits, four doubles, one triple, two home runs, 10 RBIs and eight stolen bases… Had nine multi-hit efforts… Hit a home run on Opening Day at Yarmouth-Dennis (Jun 12)… Collected three hits vs. Brewster (July 21).
2018 Season: Third Team All-New England…NCAA Conway Regional All-Tournament Team...Played in 59 games at shortstop for the Huskies…Was outstanding defensively at the premier position on the infield…Led the Huskies with 79 hits, 12 hit by pitches and 18 stolen bases…hit .324 with 11 doubles, two triples, two home runs, 23 RBIs and scored 42 runs…Second on the team with .388 on-base percentage…Led UConn with 24 multi-hit efforts…2-4 with a stolen base at Kennesaw State (Feb. 16)…Posted a 2-5 performances with a double, stolen base and three runs scored at Georgia State (Feb. 17)…Produced an RBI triple in 3-5 effort at Southeastern Louisiana (Feb 24)…Stole three bases and collected two hits at UNF (March 2)…Hit a grand slam off Shane McClanahan at USF (March 23)…Registered four-straight multi-hit games (April 7-11) to begin a seven-game hit streak…A pair of three hit games vs. Tulane (April 27 & 29) that included two doubles and three stolen bases…3-4 with three RBIs vs. Sacred Heart (May 8)…Racked up 12 hits (.667) in The American Championship which featured a four-hit (Cincinnati) and a pair of three hit games (USF & ECU) to earn All-Tournament Team honors for second-straight season…Secured a pair of hits in first career NCAA Tournament game vs. Washington (June 1)…Hit a go-ahead home run at No. 15 Coastal Carolina to aid Huskies to advance to NCAA Conway Regional Final…Finished season on six-game hit streak.
2017 Summer: Split time with the Brewster Whitecaps and Bourne Braves in the Cape Cod Baseball League…Played just two games with the Whitecaps…Played seven games in regular season and playoffs with Bourne before injury sidelined him for remainder of summer…Hit .321 (9-28) with five runs scored, two doubles, one RBI and a stolen base.
