While at UConn: Will play his fifth season at UConn in 2021-22, taking advantage of the extra season offered by the NCAA due to Covid-19... Graduated in May, 2021, with a degree in Urban and Community Studies... Has appeared in 106 games, starting 41, including all 23 games in 2020-21... Has career average of 4.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.3 blocks, with an overall career field goal percentage of .519... Long, athletic big man with in impressive wingspan and quick jumping ability... Has 17 career double-figure scoring games and 9 career double-doubles... Worked his way into the UConn rotation as a freshman, starting 12 games, and averaged over 13 minutes of playing time per game... Led the Huskies in blocked shots as a freshman and a senior.
As a Senior in 2020-21: Appeared in all 23 games, the only player to start every game, and averaged career-bests of 8.0 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.6 blocks (14th in Division I) per game... Ranked second in BIG EAST in blocked shots... Named BIG EAST co-Defensive Player of Year... Had 4 double-doubles and 9 double-figure scoring games... Had career-high 7 blocks vs. Butler (1/26/21)... Led team with 17 points, 10 rebounds in win at Seton Hall.
As a Junior in 2019-20: Appeared in 30 games, starting six, averaging 6.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game... His .540 field goal percentage led the team... Stepped into starting lineup for last six games of the season and exploded, averaging 13.8 points, 8.7 rebounds, 2.5 blocks, and shot .588 overall and .793 from the foul line for those games, including three double-doubles, helping UConn go 5-1... Had career highs of 18 points and 14 rebounds in his first start of season in win over Temple.
As a Sophomore in 2018-19: Appeared in 23 games, scoring 19 points, grabbing 24 rebounds and shooting .667 overall in limited minutes... Best performance was against USF (3/14/19) at the AAC Championship in Memphis, when he equaled a career-high with 8 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 11 minutes... Scored 4 points at SMU (2/21/19) and against UMass Lowell (11/27/18)... Had 2 blocks in 7 minutes vs. Morehead State (11/8/18).
As a Freshman in 2017-18: Appeared in 30 games, starting 12, including nine straight, and averaged 13.2 minutes, 2.6 points, 2.2 rebounds per game... First start was against No. 18 Arizona... Led the team in blocked shots with 30 (1.0) and field goal percentage at 55.8 percent of those taking more than 15 shot attempts... Had season-high of 8 points in four different games, including season opener vs. Colgate... Grabbed season-high 8 rebounds, including 5 offensive rebounds, against Coppin State... Had season-high 5 blocks against UCF.
Before College: Came to UConn following a postgraduate year at Mount Zion Prep in Baltimore, where he played under Coach Roderick Harrison... Averaged 22.0 points, 11.0 rebounds and 5.0 blocks at Mount Zion, helping the team to a 27-10 record against some of the top prep competition in the country... Spent senior year at Evelyn Mack Academy in Charlotte, N.C., where he played for Coach Greg Primus and averaged 18.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 3.0 blocks for a team that had an outstanding 34-6 season... Began high school career at Ashbrook High in Gastonia, where he averaged 17.5 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 4.7 blocks as a junior to lead team to state finals... Played AAU ball for Team United, Team Loaded and Team Melo.
