While at South Carolina, Schneider first filled the roles of assistant director and associate director with a focus on rules education before earning a promotion to director of compliance services this past January. In his role, he provided interpretations of NCAA and SEC legislation and was the primary contact handling all compliance for the men's basketball program, as well as the cross country/track & field and men's and women's soccer programs.
He is currently a member of the National Association of Athletics Compliance (NAAC) and in 2015 was the winner of the NAAC Rising Star Award. He is currently the chair of the membership/awards committee and has been a member of that committee since 2013. Prior to that, he sat on the NAAC education committee.
Schneider earned his bachelor of science in sport management from UConn in 2007 and while serving as an athletic compliance Intern and assistant basketball coach at Adelphi University, he earned a master of science in sport management in 2011.
After earning his master's, he did an internship at Brown University in the athletic compliance office followed by an academic and membership affairs (AMA) postgraduate internship with the NCAA in the summer of 2012. He worked with member institutions to analyze and process legislative relief waivers (SLR/CLR), progress-toward-degree waivers, and initial-eligibility waivers before presenting and voting at team meetings. He also provided assistance to member institutions regarding Division I, II, and III legislation and interpretations.
Schneider was named the assistant director of compliance at American University in October of 2012 before becoming the assistant athletic director of compliance at Brown University in July of 2013. Schneider spent two years at Brown and while there was a member of both The Ivy League playing and practice seasons committee and The Ivy League amateurism committee.
