While at UConn: Received an NCAA waiver in September, 2020, allowing immediate eligibility upon his transfer from Rhode Island... Had an immediate impact for UConn, playing 22 games, starting 21... Led team in rebounding, offensive rebounding, finished third in scoring... Has eight career double-doubles and 45 career double-figure scoring games... Needs just 122 points to reach 1,000 career points... Versatile, hard-nosed guard who can play three positions and guard three positions... One of four returning starters in 2021-22.
As a Junior in 2020-21: Played in 22 games, starting 21, averaging 10.3 points, a team-leading 7.5 rebounds, shooting .440 overall and .320 from three-point range... Ranked 6th in BIG EAST overall rebounding and led league in offensive rebounds (3.0)... Had 11 points and 7 rebounds in first UConn start against USC... Had 10 rebounds in BIG EAST debut vs. Creighton... Had season-high 22 points and added 10 rebounds in regular-season win over DePaul... Had another double-double, 14 points, 10 rebounds, in BIG EAST Tournaement debut vs. DePaul.
Before UConn: Came to UConn as a transfer following two years at the University of Rhode Island... Was originally recruited to URI by then-coach Dan Hurley, and opted to remain when Hurley left for UConn... Had two solid seasons at URI, appearing in 63 games and starting 49, including every game in 2019-20, averaging 10.3 points and 6.1 rebounds with six career double-doubles... Improved his numbers in every category from freshman to sophomore season.
As a Sophomore in 2019-20 (at Rhode Island): Started all 30 games for 21-9 URI, averaging 12.8 points, 7.1 rebounds and shot .433 overall with five double-doubles... Had 22 double-figure scoring games... Set career-highs of 24 points and 16 rebounds against Fordham (2/27/20), which came at the end of a five-game stretch during which he averaged 16.0 points and 9.0 rebounds... Had 22 points, 9 rebounds against Western Kentucky... Had 18 points and 10 rebounds at George Mason... Finished third on team in scoring, second in rebounding.
As a Freshman in 2018-19 (at Rhode Island): Appeared in all 33 games for the 18-15 Rams, starting 19, including the last 18, averaging 8.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, with one double-double (vs. Saint Louis on 2/2/19)... Scored double figures in 10 games, including a season-high 23 at Massachusetts (1/27/19).
Before College: Attended William Allen High School in Allentown, Pa., where he played for Coach Doug Snyder and finished with 1,120 career points. As a senior in 2016-17, was selected a Pennsylvania Second Team All-Star after averaging 20.7 ppg, 11.0 rpg and 4.0 apg and helping the team to a 26-3 record and the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference title... In 2017-18, did a post-graduate year at Massanutten Military Academy (Woodstock, Va.), under Coach Chad Myers and helped the team to a 32-4 record and to the quarterfinals of the national prep championship tournament... Played for the We R1 AAU program under Coach James Johns, winning back-to-back Under Armour national championships.
