We are thrilled to welcome Ferdinand Mueller as our new Assistant Golf Coach, who started in the fall of 2024. With a stellar background in both collegiate and professional golf, Mueller brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to our program.
Mueller began his collegiate journey at Marquette University in 2016, where he recorded multiple Top 10 finishes. A highlight from his amateur career includes winning the Slovak Amateur Championship and placing third in a professional event during the summer of 2018, paving the way for his next step in the sport.
In the fall of 2018, Mueller transferred to Oklahoma State University, joining the reigning NCAA National Championship team. He played alongside renowned PGA Tour winners Viktor Hovland, Matthew Wolff, and Austin Eckroat. During his time at OSU, Mueller earned Academic All-American honors in the 2019-2020 season, won the Southern Plains Intercollegiate in 2019, and achieved a Top 100 WAGR ranking. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and an impressive 3.9 GPA.
After turning professional in 2021, Mueller competed on the European Challenge Tour and ProGolfTour in 2022, followed by stints on the Asian Tour, Mena Tour, and All-Thailand Tour in 2023. That year, he also caddied for LIV Golf winner Eugenio Lopez-Chacarra, helping him secure several top finishes, including a dramatic playoff victory at the 2023 St. Andrews Bay Championship.
"We are extremely excited to welcome Ferdinand Mueller to our team as the new Assistant Coach. Ferdinand brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for the game, which will be invaluable in helping to elevate our program. His background as both a player and a coach gives him a unique perspective, and I have no doubt that he will make an immediate and positive impact on our student-athletes. I look forward to working alongside him and seeing how his expertise will help us continue to build on the tradition of excellence here at UConn. His future in our profession is very bright.“ Head Coach Pezzino
