Before UConn: Graduated from Ransom Everglades High School in Miami, Fla....Played tennis under head coach Peter Lehmann where he was a six year letterwinner...He helped lead his team to the 2017 Florida High School Class 1A State Championship playing at the No. 1 position...He was named to the Miami Herald All-Dade First Team doubles and Second Team singles in 2016 and 2017...Named the 2017 Ransom Everglades Male Athlete Performance Award winner...He served as the team captain in 2016 and 2017 and was named the Team MVP in 2015 and 2017...Winner of the Coaches Award in 2013 and 2016...In 2012, he helped guide his team to the Florida High School Class 1A State Championship and was a doubles finalist playing at No. 2 in the state championship that same year...During his time in high school, he helped his team win five district titles and six-straight regional titles...He was a three-star recruit by Tennis Recruiting.net and ranked as high as No. 21 among Florida prospects and as high as No. 179 in the nation...Off the court, Holtmann placed second in the 2014 Florida Blue Key Speech and Debate Tournament in the Novice Policy Division...He was the 2014 South Florida Chess Scholastic Champion U/1000 as an individual, helping qualify his team into the Florida State Championship...He was named the 2013-14 Chess Team MVP U/1000.
