Katie Beasley is in her first season as a assistant coach with the UConn rowing team after competing in the program for four seasons as a student-athlete. She is also a graduate student at UConn in the kinesiology department.

Beasley was the coxswain for a number of boats during her career at UConn, including the first and second varsity eights, the lightweight four and the novice eight. Her 2004-05 novice eight boat placed third at the BIG EAST and Dad Vail championships.

Beasley, whose sister Kristen is a junior on the team, graduated from Barnstable High School in Hyaniss, Mass. She was a member of the school's gymnastics team that won three state championships and four league and regional titles.
