Bill Datre joined UConn IMG Sports Marketing in May 2009 as an account executive and currently holds the title of Associate General Manager. He is primarily responsible for finding, growing, and retaining corporate partners for UConn Athletics. In addition, he oversees the day-to-day sales relationship with UConn IMG’s flagship radio partner, iHeart Media, and assists the general manager with sales planning and forecasting.

Bill has over 30 years of sales and marketing experience in the sports entertainment industry. Prior to his arrival at UConn IMG, he held marketing and content distribution positions with STARZ Encore Media, Fox Sports New England (NBC Sports Boston), and the World Wrestling Entertainment.

Bill attended Brandeis University in Waltham, MA. During his senior year at Brandeis, he interned in the public relations department for the Boston Celtics and was a tri-captain of the varsity baseball team that won 28 games and qualified for the NCAA Division III Baseball Tournament. Bill also holds a master’s degree in sports administration and facilities management from Ohio University and spent a semester in advertising / promotional sales with the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodgertown in Vero Beach, FL.

Bill has volunteered with Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Special Olympics, Branford Parks and Recreation Dept. and the Connecticut Hornets Girls Fastpitch Softball Organization. He and his wife Melissa have two daughters and reside in Branford, CT.
