Dave Romeiko serves as Assistant Athletic Director of Development, Annual Fund at the University of Connecticut, where he oversees the Annual Fund Department. In his first year in this role, Romeiko managed a caseload of 250 donors and raised $2.5 million while contributing to the Athletic Development team's record-breaking $50 million fundraising achievement.
Romeiko brings over 16 years of distinguished experience in the sports and entertainment industry to UConn Athletics. Prior to his current role, he served as Director of Annual Fund at Taymar Sales U, where he oversaw two Annual Fund Officers and led fundraising efforts that produced over $700,000 in new revenue and $1.5 million overall while maintaining an impressive 90% donor retention rate among 3,000 donors. During his tenure at Taymar, he was ranked #1 in Group Sales across all 20 properties and managed five Account Executives while organizing premium hospitality experiences for top donors.
His extensive background includes a successful career with Whalers Sports & Entertainment/Spectra at the XL Center in Hartford, where he advanced from Senior Account Executive to Director of Ticket Sales & Service. In this capacity, he ranked #1 in the AHL in Group Sales, managed seven employees across multiple departments, and developed innovative revenue opportunities. His achievements included organizing a 100,000-person email database that generated over $500,000 in revenue and executing creative initiatives such as a 3,000-person gymnastics tournament group sale.
Romeiko is consistently recognized for his exceptional communication skills with season ticket holders, donors, and corporate executives, as well as his dedication to improving the performance of colleagues around him. He works as a liaison alongside both the Men's Hockey and Men's Soccer coaching staffs at UConn.
A Florida State University graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism (2000), Romeiko also holds a Graduate Certificate from the Connecticut School of Broadcasting (2005).
Based in Berlin, Connecticut, Romeiko continues to pursue his passion for taking significant steps forward in supporting the growth and success of UConn Athletics through strategic development and fundraising initiatives.
