Tavarus Ferguson joined the UConn sports medicine staff as an Assistant Athletic Trainer prior to the 2018-2019 academic year. He will be working with men’s soccer and women’s rowing.
Tavarus comes to UConn after working at UNC Asheville from 2016-2018 where he worked primarily with men’s soccer while providing secondary coverage to women’s swimming, men’s and women’s track and field, and women’s tennis.
Prior to UNC Asheville, Tavarus completed a Masters in Arts with a concentration in Sports Management at East Tennessee State University while being a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer with men’s soccer. He was also the host Athletic Trainer for the 2015 Southern Conference Men’s Soccer Championships.
A native of Evans, Georgia, Tavarus completed his Bachelor’s in Athletic Training at Gardner-Webb University in 2014 while competing on the track and field team.
