Klein, Herz and Stephens Named All-Americans

STORRS, Conn. - University of Connecticut seniors Laura Klein, Amy Herz and Katie Stephens were named 2000 AstroTurf/NFHCA Division I Field Hockey All-Americans.
Klein (Fairfield, N.J.) received first team honors, while Herz (Willow Grove, Pa.) was named to the second team and Stephens (Hershey, Pa.) to the third team. The senior trio have been apart of four BIG EAST Conference regular season crowns, three BIG EAST Tournament Championships, two trips to the NCAA Quarterfinals and two Final Four appearances. This is the second year for Klein and Herz to be presented with All-American recognition.
In the final 2000 STX/NFHCA Division I Coaches Poll released on Nov. 21, the Huskies finished seventh nationally, after going 17-7 overall and making their fifth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance.
