Since taking over the program in 1988, Marshall has built the Husky program into its current Division I status and has received many numerous honors both individually and as part of the team. Most recently, Marshall and the 1999-2000 Husky squad earned their first-ever conference championship after taking Iona, 6-1, in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Tournament Championship.
Through his twelve seasons as head coach, Marshall has led Connecticut to the MAAC Championship Final game, to the semifinals of the first-ever MAAC Championship, eight ECAC East Tournament berths, four ECAC semifinals and one ECAC championship appearance. In 1992, he won the Edward Jeremiah College Division National Coach of the Year and was named the ECAC Coach of the Year. Marshall's career record stands at 197-134-26.
