» The Huskies are headed back to the Hockey East Championship game for the second
straight year after taking down Boston College in overtime in the Hockey East Semifi-
nals.
» This will be the fourth matchup between UConn and Merrimack this season. In a physi-
cal season series, the Huskies took all three games by finals of (5-1,3-0, and 5-2).
» The Huskies advanced to the Hockey East Championship following a thrilling 4-3 OT
win over Boston College. Tristan Fraser scored the game winner, while Trey Scott,
Ethan Whitcomb and Mike Murtagh scored the other goals.
» Hockey East Awards: Tabor Heaslip has been named Hockey East Best Defensive For-
ward, while Ryan Tattle and Joey Muldowney were named Second Team All-Stars and
Tyler Muszelik was Named 3rd Team All-Star.
» The Huskies continue to receive contributions from all 4 lines. Following the semifinal
game, all four lines from the Huskies have combined for 20 or more goals.
» Best Ability is Availability: Friday's game marked the 146-game played by seniors Tom
Messineo and Tabor Heaslip. Neither senior missed a game during their four-year career
and set the program record for most games played in the Hockey East Era.
» Hockey Humanitarian Finalist: Senior Ryan Tattle has been named a finalist for the
Hockey Humanitarian Award. Tattle is one of five finalists named by the Hockey Hu-
manitarian Committee. This past winter break, Tattle hosted his 5th annual Score for
Cancer game. Following the completion of the game Sat. Dec. 20, Tattle has raised over
$180,000 for Cancer Research.
» Huskies in the NHL: Marc Gatcomb has become the 9th Husky to reach the pros, hav-
ing most recently been called up by the New York Islanders. Gatcomb joins, Chase
Bradley, Ruslan Iskhakov, Yan Kuznetsov, Todd Krygier, Cole Schneider, Max Letunov,
Adam Huska, and Tage Thompson as former Huskies to make it to the league.
