Women's Ice Hockey Falls To RPI, 10-2

STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut womens ice hockey team fell to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, 10-2, at the UConn Ice Arena in Storrs on Wednesday evening (Jan. 17).
With the loss, UConn drops to 2-4, while RPI improves to 5-6-1 on the season.
UConn's Melissa Bailey (West Hartford, CT) scored both of the Huskies tallies. Kristine DeRosa netted a hat trick for RPI, with Anais Cunha assisting on all three goals. Andrea Wadman and Julie Durham each added two goals for the Engineers.
Diana Cohen (South Salem, NY) stopped 28 shots on net, while Laura DeNuccio and Carla King combined for 17 saves in goal. Rensselaer outshot UConn, 38-19.
UConn travels to Wayne State on Saturday, January 20 for a game slated to begin at 8:00 p.m. in Detroit, MI.
