Hockey Huskies Rally To Tie Bentley, 3-3

The two teams battled to a scoreless tie to end the first period. Bentley then notched three quick goals to begin the second stanza. John DiGennaro tallied the first goal 25 seconds in, followed by two scores from Mike Mulligan within a 1:30 time span. Anders Johnson (North Kingston, RI) put UConn on the board with eight minutes remaining on an assist from Mike Boylan (Doylestown, PA).
Corey Salvatelli (Leominster, MA) brought the score within one at the 3:01 mark of the third period. Michael Goldkind (Silver Springs, MD) and Matt Herhal (Pottstown, PA) assisted on the goal. Goldkind then tied the score at the 11:25 mark to send the game into the scoreless overtime period. D.J. Miller (Mount Lebanon, PA) and Scott Brown (Blaine, MN) were credited with the assists. With Goldkind's two points recorded in the game puts him at the 100- point career plateau.
Jason Carey (Oakdale, MN) stopped 33 shots on net for Connecticut, while Bentley's Ray DeVincent recorded 35 saves. The Huskies outshot the Falcons, 38-36.
UConn will take on Quinnipiac University on Saturday, January 27 at 7:00 p.m. at the Northford Ice Pavilion in Northford, CT.
