Connecticut Falls to St. John's

JAMAICA, NY (Oct. 11) - The University of Connecticut women’s volleyball team fell to St. John’s, 3-2 (30-24, 26-30, 30-22, 20-30, 15-12) at Alumni Hall Friday night. The loss drops UConn to 7-10 overall and 3-2 in the BIG EAST, while St. John’s moves to 14-10 overall and 3-2 in the conference.
The Huskies were led by senior Christine Lambert (Lancaster, CA) with a career high 23 kills on a .512 hitting percentage. Lambert also had a career high six service aces and a team high seven blocks. The Huskies also received kill-dig double doubles from senior Melissa Wooley (Ridgecrest, CA) and sophomore Jamie Hadenfeldt (Benicia, CA). Wooley recorded 19 kills and 14 digs, while Hadenfeldt had 10 kills and a team high 20 digs. Erbez set the game with 58 assists.
The Red Storm were led by Sarah McCrary with 17 kills and Robyn Kurasaki with 43 assists..
Connecticut returns to action on Fri., Oct. 18, at 2:30 pm, when they host Fairfield in the UConn Autumn Classic at Harry A. Gampel Pavilion.
