Carey Named MAAC Goalie of the Week

EDISON, NJ (November 18) – Junior goaltender Jason Carey (Oakdale, PA) of the University of Connecticut men’s hockey team was named the ITECH MAAC Hockey League Goalie of the Week on Monday afternoon by the conference office.
Carey tended goal for the Huskies in their first league win of the season, a 3-1 decision over Sacred Heart on Saturday. He stopped 34 shots on goal, including all 14 he faced in the third period while UConn scored three unanswered goals to rally for the win. He held the pioneers to only one goal in the game, the lowest by a Husky netminder all season. On the season, Carey is 2-2-0 with a 3.71 goals against average and a 0.89 save percentage.
UConn will travel to the Hart Center to face MAAC rival Holy Cross on Friday, November 22 at 6:30 pm in Worcester.
