Men’s Hockey Announces 2005-06 Schedule
STORRS, Conn. (May 10) – The University of Connecticut men’s hockey team and head coach Bruce Marshall have announced the schedule for the upcoming 2005-06 season. UConn will open the season at home on October 7, with an exhibition contest against Ryerson at 7:05 p.m.
The squad will then take the road for two non-conference matchups, a single game against Union on October 15 and a two-game series at Merrimack on October 21 and 22.
On October 28-29, the Huskies open their Atlantic Hockey schedule with a trip to Erie, Pa., to face Mercyhurst before returning home for their regular season home-opener on November 4, against Holy Cross at 7:05 p.m.
UConn then will continue conference play throughout November and December and will face Atlantic Hockey foe Army in the first round of the Toyota UConn Hockey Classic, which the team will host on December 29 and 30. The winner of UConn vs. Army will face the winner of Massachusetts-Amherst vs. Bowling Green in the Classic’s championship game at 7:15 p.m. on December 30.
Connecticut will play the majority of its home schedule in January as it hosts six contests throughout the month against Bentley, Mercyhurst, Holy Cross and Canisius. The Huskies then break from conference play with a trip to Yale on February 4, followed by a home-and-home series with American International on February 10 and 11, with UConn’s alumni day slated for the 11th.
UConn wraps up the remainder of the regular season with three two-game series against Army, Bentley and Sacred Heart. The final home contest will be played on March 4, against Sacred Heart at 7:05 p.m.
