Thibault and Wilson Earn Hockey East Monthly Honors

WAKEFIELD, Mass. (Nov. 1, 2007) - Sophomore Dominique Thibault (L'Orignal, Ont.) and junior Brittany Wilson (Nepean, Ont.) have both been selected by the Hockey East for Monthly Honors due to their successful performances during the month of October.
Thibault, the Huskies leader in both goals scored and points this season, netted her 10th goal of the season as she scored the game winning goal in overtime to lead UConn past Rensselaer 3-2 on Wednesday night.
The sophomore forward earned three straight Hockey East TPS Player of the Week honors en route to being named the Hockey East TPS Hockey Player of the Month for October. She has posted a league-high 19 points (10g, 9a) with a +13 plus/minus rating in nine games played this season. Thibault has recorded a point in eight of nine games this season and has seven multiple point efforts to her credit, with four three-point performances. She has helped the Huskies to peak at No. 8 in both the USA TODAY/USA Hockey Women's Poll the past two weeks while UConn is on a program-best eight-game winning streak.
Wilson earned her sixth win of the season as she collected a season-high 33 saves in goal against RPI on Wednesday night to clinch the ITECH Goaltender of the Month honor for October. Wilson, who posts a 6-1-0 overall record this season and a 2-0-0 record in Hockey East play, earned two wins against ranked opponents so far this season. She has posted two shutouts this season and has won six straight games for the Husky program.
The Huskies, now 8-1-0 overall, will host Brown University in non-conference action on Sunday, Nov. 4 at 1:00 p.m.
