Huskies Split Time At New Balance and Giegengack Invites

STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut men's track and field team will split their time this weekend at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational and Yale's Giegengack Invitational on Friday and Saturday, February 5 and 6.
UConn's throwing squad will take part in the illustrious New Balance College Invite while the rest of the team competes in New Haven. Also participating at the Giegengack Invite are teams from over 15 different schools from the Atlantic 10, Ivy League, Northeast and BIG EAST conferences. The Giegengack Invitational is named after the legendary Yale coach Bob Giegengack.
This is the first time since 2008 that the Huskies have participated at the Giegengack Invitational, while UConn attended the New Balance Collegiate meet for the first time ever last season.
Friday's competition at Yale will start with field events at 5:00 p.m. and end with the men's distance medley relay at 8:15 p.m. Saturday's competition will start with field events at 9:30 a.m. and end with the men's 4x400-meter relay at 6:05 p.m. A complete schedule can be found here.
