Brant Harris Named AHA Player of the Week

STORRS, Conn. - It was announced today by the Atlantic Hockey Association that UConn sophomore forward Brant Harris (Estevan, Saskatchewan) was named the Offensive Player of the Week. Harris finished the weekend with three goals, including two power-play strikes.
The Huskies finished the weekend with a 0-1-1 record in two games at Bowling Green on Friday and Saturday night. Connecticut fell, 2-1, in the opener before earning a 4-4 tie on Saturday night.
Harris notched the lone goal on the power play on Friday night. On Saturday, the right winger scored on the power play midway through the first period to make it 2-0. With UConn down, 4-3, in the waning minutes of regulation, Harris netted his third of the weekend to send the game into overtime at 18:09.
Harris finished his freshman campaign with eight goals and 14 assists for 22 points.
Connecticut will continue its five-game road trip to start the season with the AHA opener at Army on Friday, October 14 beginning at 7:05 p.m. UConn will host the home opener on Thursday, October 27 against Holy Cross beginning at 7:05 p.m.
