Huskies Drop 3-1 Result At Air Force

STORRS, Conn. - The UConn men's hockey team dropped a 3-1 result at Air Force tonight, falling to 4-6-2 (3-3-1 AHA). Sean Ambrosie scored for UConn. Garrett Bartus stopped 37 shots on the night.
Air Force improved to 6-4-2 overall and 5-2-1 in Atlantic Hockey.
The Huskies fell behind 10:19 into the first period on a goal by Air Force's Kyle DeLaurell. Air Force made it 2-0 with a second-period goal by Tim Kirby just 1:02 into the second period on the power play.
Air Force held a commanding edge in shots in the first period, outshooting Connecticut, 16-5, in the opening 20 minutes.
The Huskies, the nation's top team on the power play, continued to excel with the man advantage. UConn capitalized in the second period and cut the lead to one on a goal from Sean Ambrosie at 3:32. Cole Schneider and Alex Gerke tallied assists on the play.
The goal was Ambrosie's second of the season with Schneider and Gerke each tallying their seventh assists of the season.
Air Force added an insurance tally to make it 3-1 11:32 into the second period with a goal from Cole Gunner.
The Huskies were unable to cut the deficit, failing to score on their lone power-play opportunity of the third period. UConn generated six shots in the final 20 minutes.
For the game, UConn was outshot, 40-18.
The two teams will play the rematch at 9:05 p.m. ET on Saturday night.
