Women's Hockey Falls to No. 3 Boston College

CHESTNUT Hill, Mass. - The University of Connecticut women's ice hockey team dropped a Hockey East contest to No. 3 Boston College, 8-0, Sunday afternoon.
The Eagles (19-4-2, 12-2-1) posted four goals in the first period and four more in the third. Sophomore Alex Carpenter led the way for the BC offense with a hat trick and two assists.
Freshman Elaine Chuli (Waterford, Ont.) totaled 36 saves in the loss for the Huskies (3-20-3, 1-11-1). For the weekend, she posted 80 saves after stopping a career-high 44 in a 1-1 tie against Maine on Saturday. Sophomore goaltender Megan Miller made 15 saves to earn the shutout for Boston College.
The Eagles outshot UConn, 44-15. Sophomore Sarah MacDonnell (Quispamsis, Que.) registered four shots on goal for the Huskies.
Connecticut returns to action next Friday against Providence at 7:00 pm for its annual Skating Strides Game.
