Game Notes
- With their 96-60 win over Creighton Sunday, the Huskies avoided losing back-to-back games for the first time since Feb. 27, 1993.
- Sunday's win extended UConn's streak of home-opening wins to 22 dating back to the 1990 season. The Huskies are now 29-1 in home openers under head coach Geno Auriemma.
- UConn junior forward Breanna Stewart finished the game with 25 points on 10-10 shooting from the field, becoming just the first Husky to not miss a shot with at least 10 attempts since Nykesha Sales in 1997.
- Stewart's 25 points and 10 rebounds marked the second double-double on the year for the Connecticut forward. She has 16 double-doubles in her collegiate career.
- Freshmen Kia Nurse and Gabby Williams both tallied career-high point totals against Creighton. Nurse (22 points) eclipsed her previous career-best of nine points in the first half, while Williams scored 11 of Connecticut's 16 bench points on the afternoon.
- The Huskies finished the day 11-21 (.524) from the three-point line. Connecticut has now shot better than 50 percent in two of its first three games of the season after going 18-28 (64.3) from distance against UC Davis in the season-opener.
