Game Notes
- With the loss, UConn falls to 6-4 all-time against Temple. The Huskies had won four straight over the Owls heading into Wednesday's game.
- Connecticut is now 1-5 on the season when trailing at halftime.
- Wednesday's contest marked the first overtime game for the Huskies this season. UConn last played an overtime game in the opening round of the 2014 NCAA Tournament against St. Joseph's.
- Connecticut freshman guard Daniel Hamilton recorded his second-ever double-double in the loss, finishing with 12 points and a career-high 12 rebounds. His previous high in rebounds (nine) came against West Virginia on Nov. 23.
- Sophomore forward Kentan Facey grabbed 10 rebounds for the second straight game, as he finished the contest with 11 boards. He has tallied double-figure rebounds in three games this year.
- The loss to the Owls was the first setback for the Huskies at the XL Center this season. They won their first two games at the venue by an average of 27 points.
- UConn's 46 rebounds against Temple marked the highest total for Connecticut this season. The previous high was 45, which came against Coppin State (Dec. 14).
- Connecticut shot just 42.1 percent from the free throw line, the lowest percentage for the Huskies on the season. UConn went 27-30 from the line in its two previous games before today.
- Temple's 31.6 shooting percentage on Wednesday was just above the season-low for a Connecticut opponent. Central Connecticut finished the game at 31.5 percent from the floor against the Huskies on Dec. 28.
