Women's XC Competes at New England Championships

BOSTON - In action for the second-straight weekend, the UConn women's cross country team raced to an 11th-place finish on Saturday morning at the New England Championships, held at historic Franklin Park. The Huskies finish the 35-team meet with 282 team points.
Connecticut averaged an 18:52 second finish in the 5K race and placed four individual finishers in the top-75 overall.
Freshman standout Danielle Jordan was the first Husky to cross the finish line on Saturday, taking 38th overall with a 18:38.6 second finish. Next up, Lindsey Kane placed 44th with an 18:45.7 second mark before Mary Monda Oewel nabbed 52nd with a time of 18:50.8.
Sophomore Hannah Parker (19:02.1) was the fourth Husky to cross the finish line, while Hannah Fleming (19:04.3) and Maggie Christe (19:15.7) each finished in the top-100 overall.

Connecticut faces a quick turnaround on Friday, Oct. 14 when it travels to Kingston, R.I. to participate in the 2016 Rothenburg run in its final tune-up before The American Championship.
