UConn Opens Outdoor Season at UCF Black and Gold

ORLANDO, Fla. - The UConn women's track and field team will make its 2017 outdoor debut at the UCF Black and Gold Challenge on Friday, March 17 and Saturday, March 18.
Friday's events include the javelin at 11 a.m. and the hammer throw at 2:30 p.m. Theresa Swanke and Thalia Ghalam will represent UConn in the javelin and Kelli Thomas, Samantha Mazur and Chanell Botsis, the ECAC shot put champion, will be competing in the hammer throw.
Competition will resume on Saturday, March 18 at 11 a.m. with the discus. Saturday's track events are set to begin at 2 p.m. following the conclusion of the Autism Awareness Walk. CLICK HERE for a full schedule of events.

The Huskies are coming off a fourth-place finish at the 2017 American Athletic Conference indoor championship where the team set three meet records.
