No. 12/20 Men’s Soccer Travels to Orlando for Top-20 Matchup with UCF

STORRS, Conn. – No. 12 UConn (7-2-1) heads down to Orlando, Fla. for a Friday afternoon, top-20 clash with the UCF Knights on Oct. 12. This will be the Huskies' first game against a ranked opponent since the Sept. 2 contest against Indiana. The nationally televised game will be broadcast on ESPNU at 4 p.m.

Heading into the Matchup…
· The Huskies are currently ranked in four polls – TopDrawerSoccer (12), United Soccer Coaches (20), Soccer America (21) and College Soccer News (28)

Last Time Out…
The Huskies outlasted Sacred Heart, 2-1, Oct. 6 at Morrone Stadium. Trailing 1-nil at the break, UConn turned up the energy on both the offensive and defensive end. The Husky backline limited the Pioneers to just two second-half shot attempts, while the offense began to get the ball out on the flank and break down the Sacred Heart defense. The equalizer came from Dayonn Harris off a give-and-go from Mbacke Thiam, with the golden goal being delivered by Mbacke Thiam on the breakaway from a Felix Metzler pass.

Ray Reid leads the Huskies in his 22nd season as the head coach. A four-time National Coach of the Year and National Champion, Reid boasts the second highest winning percentage (.745) among active coaches.
Next Up...
UConn returns home to host Boston College in the second-to-last nonconference game of the season. The match was originally scheduled to be played on Sept. 18 but inclement field conditions caused for a rescheduling. Tuesday's match is a WHITE OUT. White t-shirts will be hand out and student season ticket holders will receive scarves at the game.
