O'Brien finished the race second overall but first for the Huskies. She was followed by Mia Nahom-third, Haley Hasty-fourth, Courtney Akerley-eleventh, and Danielle Jordan-fourteenth.
Fast forward to this season coach Clark states, "We are bringing the best that we have." He continued, "We are looking at it as a challenge another challenge to see how we respond. We just want to give it a great effort at a good. This is the time that you let everyone shine we are looking forward to New Orleans and letting the music."
UConn has had a good season thus far with first, third, sixth, and fifteenth place finishes against very formidable competition. The Huskies will be defending their title against fellow AAC teams; SMU (who finished second behind UConn last year), Temple, Tulsa, Tulane, Wichita State, ECU, Memphis, Cincinnati, Houston, UCF, and USF.
"Everyone is important in these races, we rely on everyone and everyone is valued," says Clark. "In the public's eye the winner gets more attention but in reality you have to have five scoring and seven pushing. We are traveling nine."
