STORRS, Conn.—UConn women's cross country ships up north to New Hampshire to compete at the NCAA Division I Northeast Regional Championships at the Hopkinton Fairgrounds on Friday morning.

Captain Chloe Trudel crossed the line at 20:39.5, taking 16rh place. Brooke Strauss rounded out the trifecta of Huskies, taking 19th at 20:58.2
UConn enters the weekend ranked fifth in the USTFCCCA Northeast Region, behind Boston College, Syracuse, Providence and Yale. Last season, the Huskies claimed fifth at the regional championships. Chloe Thomas took home the individual Northeast crown, qualifying for the NCAA Championships with teammate Jenna Zydanowicz.
Qualifying Procedures
The regional championships help teams advance to the NCAA Division I cross country championships each year. The top two teams in each region secure automatic NCAA Championship bids. The first four regional finishers who are not from an automatic-qualifying or at-large team also secure an automatic bid to the championships.
If a team doesn't secure an automatic bid, it will have to rely on the NCAA DI Cross Country Subcommittee to select it as one of the 13 at-large teams.
The Huskies will toe the line at 11:00 am. Follow UConn Track and Field on Instagram, X, and Facebook @uconntfxc.
