New additions are a setter and middle blocker
STORRS, Conn.—The UConn women's volleyball team has inked a pair of newcomers who have recently signed their National Letters of Intent (NLI), to officially join the University of Connecticut Athletics family beginning in 2019, announced by Head Coach Kris Grunwald on Wednesday.
Alexandria Garland and Madison Whitmire have committed to UConn during the early signing period this November.
"The UConn Volleyball program is extremely excited to announce two additions to the Husky family. Both of these young women hail from the state of Texas while representing two great high school programs as well as two of the nation's most prominent clubs. The recruiting process started early with both players so we have had time to establish a great rapport with them as well as their families and are excited about the quality of people joining our program in addition to the types of players they are. Both players were recently recognized with the announcement of the National Under Armour All-American teams. Madi was a First-Team selection as a setter and Ali was an Honorable mention as a Middle Blocker."
